My voluntary work at Strawberry Lane Community Garden brought together my love for nature, creativity and connecting with others. I created and ran a Saturday session called ‘Beat the Blues’ for people like me, who struggle with their mental health, to connect, relate, and find calm and community in nature. I created flyers and painted signs to spread the word about this underused inner city garden, using a clear but approachable design system, and fun anthropomorphic illustrations.
