Ubuntu Play Therapy
Illustration, Style Guide Development and Design
I worked with Jenny Johnson at Studio Cambio on a brand refresh for Ubuntu Play Therapy, a community interest company offering therapeutic support through play. I hand-painted textures in acrylic, cut abstract shapes from black card, then scanned and refined them digitally to build a flexible library of assets. I chose these hands-on techniques to reflect real-life play with paint, paper and scissors, favouring imperfect lines to feel more child-like and human. Each shape was created to express different values, emotions and ideas, forming a visual language that reflects how feelings can shift, connect and build on one another. The system can be combined in different ways to tell new stories and support key messages across the website, social media and internal materials.
