Ubuntu Play Therapy
Illustration, Style Guide Development and Design
I worked with Jenny Johnson at Studio Cambio on a brand refresh for Ubuntu Play Therapy, a community interest company offering therapeutic support through play. I hand-painted textures in acrylic, cut abstract shapes from black card, then scanned and refined them digitally to build a flexible library of assets. I chose these hands-on techniques to reflect real-life play with paint, paper and scissors, favouring imperfect lines to feel child-like and human. Each shape was created to express different values, emotions and ideas, forming a visual language that reflects how thoughts and feelings interact and build a narrative. The system can be combined in different ways to tell stories and support key messages across the website, social media and internal materials.
